Welcome to Van Buren Center!
The mission of the Van Buren Center is to support and strengthen the community by addressing the needs of those experiencing homelessness by providing immediate shelter and a safe environment to individuals seeking assistance while they resolve their housing crisis.
We protect basic human rights and meet human needs by providing safe shelter. We instill hope and provide support to our guests for their long-term success through empowerment, community engagement and teamwork.
Programs We Offer
The YMCA of Central Ohio's shelter services for adult women, men, and families. Our main objective is to offer the assistance and support needed to stabilize and maintain independent housing while providing access to those supportive services needed in order to achieve the highest possible standard of living.

The YMCA of Central Ohio, in partnership with dedicated community volunteers, is committed to reuniting women experiencing homelessness with their families for the holiday season. Your help can be the difference between sleeping in a shelter or going home to a loving family environment. With your support, we can drastically change the holidays for 200 families. With your support, we will help 200 women rebuild their lives.
